Epping Industrial at a glance

Epping Industria is an industrial expanse situated in Cape Town, in the Western Cape of South Africa. The destination is located south of Thornton, east of Pinelands and north of the Langa suburban areas. It was first established in the 1940’s. In the early stages of this development, it is noted that growth was seen to be lethargic with certain parts of the are utilised as a race track at the beginning of the 1950's.  However, these modest beginnings haven’t detoured Epping Industria from becoming Cape Town’s biggest and most centrally situated industrial area.

Industrial Hotspots

Epping Industria is widely regarded as the most centrally located business area in the entire greater Cape Town area. Besides for the obvious industrious nature of this sought after historical area, Epping has many industrial hotspots located in its vicinity. Some of the many industries who call the area home include the automotive, construction, food processing, and logistics industries. It’s also the home of Africa’s biggest packaging company Nampack. With Epping Industrial being so centrally located there really is a world of shopping in any direction as the city of Cape Town is renowned for its abundance of shopping centres, malls, bazaars, markets and fresh produce from the various neighbouring farmlands. Places of close proximity to Epping for shopping include Canal Walk, Epping Centre, and Century shopping centre. It’s also home to Cape Town’s most established fresh produce market, The Cape Town Market, that caters to over 8000 fresh produce customers.

Transport

Cape Town’s MetroRail train system has a railway that runs on the outskirts of Epping Industria, some of the closest stations are Langa and Bontheuwel. Epping Industria is within close proximity to the Cape Town international airport and this route can be reached via the MyCiti bus service. Minivan taxis are also an easy way of travelling to Epping. Epping is well connected via all major routes in Cape Town, roads are well maintained and is therefore easy to reach Epping via car or taxi.
