Category Industrial Property News

If you look on the map Rosslyn might seem like a small suburb, within the sprawling Gauteng expanse. However, it's becoming well known for being one of South Africa's most important industrial locations for so many reasons. Tshwane Auto City is one of the initiatives that was implemented in the Rosslyn locality with the intention to create much-needed employment. Mega car manufacturers call the region home and this has created a hub within this sector. BMW is one such mega brand and they are planning to expand on production from 71 000 units to 76 000 in 2019. As more and more development takes place in this area so does the availability of suitable factories, warehouses and assembly plants for major brands and industries.

"Speaking at a media function in Midrand on Thursday, BMW Group SA and sub-Saharan Africa CEO Tim Abbott said the Rosslyn plant was still ramping up to its new, increased full production capacity of 76 000 units a year - up from the previous 71 000-unit-a-year capacity - but that a new record could be possible in 2019". -Irma Venter (2018)
