Why Hennopspark is one of the Most High-End Industrial nodes in Gauteng

Category Industrial Property News

Neighbouring the suburbs of Zwartkop and Die Hoewes, Hennopspark is a little-known yet highly underrated industrial zone. It is one of the oldest suburbs in Centurion and has a well-maintained infrastructure in place.

Unlike most other industrial zones, Hennopspark also contains a healthy mix of residential and commercial properties within its locality. The residential sector of Hennopspark is extremely stable, with 78% of homeowners having lived in their homes for five years or more.

Industrial areas have an infamous reputation for being crime-ridden, but Hennopspark has a substantially lower crime rate than most other industrial zones in Gauteng. The reason for this can be attributed to the high number of residential homes and the active neighbourhood watch. The closest police station is the Wierda Park Police Station, which is responsible for policing Hennopsark. Since 2013, two patrol cars have been permanently allocated to patrolling the Hennopspark area. Since this system has been implemented there has been a drastic decrease in crime.

The Wierda Park police station saw a decrease of 90,9% in murders in the area from March 2016 to March 2017. For the same time period Wierda Park experienced a 9.2% decrease in cases involving drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol. These statistics are particularly impressive if you consider the fact that most areas in South Africa have seen a steadily increasing crime rate across all spheres.

Hennopspark was included in a R3.3m improvement project last year, where the government hired contractors to repair sink-holes and replace old water pipes in the central Centurion area. The sink-holes were beginning to become a major issue, and this upgrade improved Hennopspark’s general infrastructure and has contributed to making the suburb safer and more desirable.

The project ensured that as much as 1300 metres of water pipes and valves were replaced as well as communication pipes and water metres in necessary cases. All the pavements damaged during the process were repaired with precision.

One of the major benefits of operating an industrial operation from Hennopspark is the multitude of facilities at hand. There are many large malls in the immediate area, including Centurion Mall, Centurion Lifestyle Centre and Reds mall. On top of retail outlets there are numerous restaurants, churches, post offices, petrol stations and schools in the area. Having so many amenities close at hand makes Hennopspark a highly convenient place of work.

Hennopspark and surrounding areas have undergone many prestigious developments that have contributed to the suburb’s industrial prominence. There are scores of high-end industrial parks in Hennopspark that have a range of warehousing, manufacturing and distribution facilities. Micro parks consisting of smaller warehouses are particularly popular within in the node.

A noteworthy development taking place in the neighbouring suburb of Waterkloof is the Centurion Aerospace Village, a sustainable industrial park by the Department of Trade and Industry that is expected to revolutionise South African’s industrial sector. The development has a massive budget of R1.1bn and is currently still under construction. This industrial advancement is expected to bring further prominence and international interest to its surrounding industrial areas.

With so many positive developments taking place in Hennopspark, especially in its industrial sector, there is no better time than the present to invest in Hennopspark by moving your business premises to the affluent area.
